ANA KOVAČEVIĆ was born in 1988 in Belgrade, Serbia. Here, she graduated from university, completed her specialization and got her DMA in solo piano performance in Faculty of Music Arts in the class of professor Jokut Mihajlović. For her final artistic project, she worked under mentorship of professor Branko Penčić. She won the prize from Slobodanka Milošević-Savić Fund for the best piano student in (2011). She graduated from Music Elementary School “Vladimir Đorđević” in the class of Jelena Filotić as a valedictorian and from Music High School “Josip Slavenski” in the class of Olga Bauer, where she won an award for the best final exam. She also took master classes with Natalija Trull, Yevgeniy Starodubtsev, Lovre Marušić, Alexander Sinchuk and Mihail Udhe.
She has been working in “Davorin Jenko” Music School, as a piano teacher since 2012, and she was also an accompanist for the string section between 2012 and 2021. She is a member of organizational bord for “Jenko” International Competition in solo piano and piano duo categories, as well as an official accompanist for wind instruments in the same competition.
She organizes concerts as both a solo musican and a chamber musician on a regular basis. She has premiered “Concertino for Piano and Chamber Orchestra, op. 205” with “Stanislav Binički” art ensemble (conducted by Rade Pejčić in 2016). She perofmed in Arsoli Theater in Italy, as well as the final concert of the “Maria Canals” competition winner in Barcelona, as a guest, and has participated in “OFF Festival” within the same competition several times (Spain, 2012). She has performed Piano “Concerto No. 1 in E- Flat Major” by Liszt with “Stanislav Binički” art ensemble (conducted by Draško Janković, 2017), as well as with Razgrad Philharmonic (conducted by Krasen Ivanov, Bulgaria, 2011).
She had solo recitals in Užice City Hall, Italian Cultural Center, cultural foundation “UK Parobrod” (2023), SANU Gallery (2016, 2019), Belgrade City Hall as a part of October echoes of “Chopin Fest”, in Belgrade Cultural Center – KCB (2015, 2018), Student Cultural Center – SKC (2014), and in “Guarnerius” Center for Fine Arts (2013). Since 2019, she has been regularly performing with Sofia di Somma, a violinist. The duo has held a recital in Salerno (Italy, 2024), as well as in the following venues in Belgrade: Ilija M. Kolarac Endowment (2024), SANU Gallery, Pedagogical Museum (2020), as well as in Wolf Foundation Concert in Sion, Switzerland, in 2023.
Ana has achieved significant pedagogical results with her students, with three of them becoming students of Faculty of Music Arts in Belgrade, as well as the Gnessin State Musical College in Moscow. She is also a successful accompanist for many students and former students, some of which became successful university students and music teachers in their own right, in many competitions, as well as in the entrance exam for Faculty of Music Arts in Belgrade. Her students have, so far, won over 50 prizes, half of which were won in Ministry of Education ranked competitions, as well as several international competitions. Ana also organizes concerts of her class on a regular basis and her students are active on the scene in Ilija M. Kolarac Endowment Music Gallery, House of King Petar I, House of Djura Jakšić and other venues, popularizing clasical music, “Davorin Jenko” Music School and culture in general. Her students have participated in a humanitarian concert project “Children of Light” by Nada Kolundžija, performing publicly the music of Karen Tanaka, a Japanese composer, for the first time. Ana has also prepared two of her students to perform at the promotion of Simona Arco's new composition collection, from which she also performed a piece “Sevdah” herself, in the concert in “Davorin Jenko” Music School (2023).
Ana has participated as a member of jury in the Republic Competition of Community of Music and Ballet Schools (ZMBŠS, Belgrade, 2022) in the chamber music discipline, as well as “Polyhimnia” International Festival in solo piano discipline for all categories (2023, 2024).
