ILONA BROKA, Latvian pianist, was born in Daugavpils ( LATVIA) in 1968.
She studied piano playing at Daugvpils Music secondary school , which she graduated with honors and at Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music in Riga by prof.Raffi Kharajanyan and where she received her bachelor’s degree. Constantly improving her knowledge, she received a master’s degree at Daugavpils university.
Since 1992 she is a piano teacher of Daugavpils Music secondary school, and also has been in charge of piano department for many years.
Her students actively participate in various competitions, where they win honorary prizes.
In addition to pedagogy, she actively acts as accompanist with vocalists, plays piano duets a lot and with great interest, as well as a soloist with symphony orchestra Daugavpils sinfonietta. In her concert programs are Concerto in F by G.Gershwin, Concerto nr.4 in A major by J.S.Bach, Concerto for 2 harpsichords in C major,Concerto for three and four pianos by Bach , F.Poulenc Concerto for Two pianos and orchersta , W.A.Mozarts Double Concerto nr.10, C.Sain-Saens The Carnival of the animals, and other compositions.
